One of the most common concerns we hear from restaurateurs considering a new platform is: do I have to replace all my existing hardware? The answer, with MealApp, is almost always no.
Our integration layer is designed to work alongside your existing POS rather than replace it. Orders received through MealApp — whether delivery, pickup, or dine-in — are routed to your kitchen via our dedicated thermal printer device, which operates independently of your POS and requires no configuration on your existing system.
For operators who want deeper integration, our open API allows direct connection to most modern POS systems including Square, Lightspeed, and custom-built setups. Menu items, prices and availability sync bidirectionally, so a change in your POS is reflected on MealApp within seconds.
External printers — receipt printers, kitchen label printers, and bar printers — can all be connected to the MealApp device network. Each printer can be assigned to receive specific order types, so your kitchen printer gets food tickets while the bar printer gets drink orders automatically.
The setup process for most integrations takes under two hours and can be completed during a quiet period without any service interruption.
